5 Best Transfers in the 2025/26 Premier League so far
The 2025/26 Premier League season is well underway. The table is beginning to take shape – and judgement is starting to be passed on the summer signings.
We’ve seen plenty of players flop on their arrival in the Premier League this season – but we want to take a look at the other end of the spectrum today.
We’ll take a look at five of the best transfer incomings in the Premier League this season, in no particular order. In the interest of fairness, we will only be including one transfer per club. Furthermore, we’ll also be taking the transfer prices into account to determine whether they represent good value for money.
Tijjani Reijnders
Starting off the list is a real no-brainer. Tijjani Reijnders has been just what Manchester City needed in the middle of the park – a physical, energetic midfield who can break up play and also score goals when needed.
One of the best midfielders in the Premier League so far this season, Reijnders contributes massively at both ends of the pitch.
Despite commanding a fee of £46.3 million, this is a mere drop in the ocean for a club of City’s stature. Even so, it was definitely money well spent.
Omar Alderete
Sunderland were in a vulnerable position upon their promotion to the Premier League. Many expected them to lead a disastrous campaign, but shrewd dealings in the transfer market have seen them get their season off to a brilliant start.
Perhaps the best of the bunch is Omar Alderete, who the Mackems snapped up for just under £11 million. A monolith of a defender, Alderete is brilliant at clearing dangerous balls into the area.
Furthermore, he has shown that he is willing to chip in at the other end of the pitch – he already has a goal and an assist to his name in 2025/26.
Anton Stach
Towering midfielder Anton Stach has given Leeds United’s midfield the physicaility it needed upon the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League. Not only is he physically capable, he is also a very tidy operator techincally.
While he is fairly slow, Stach makes up for this weakness with his excellent anticipational skills and positioning on the pitch. At just £17.4 million, he’s starting to look like a real bargain.
He can score goals, too – the German has a goal and an assist under his belt in the Premier League so far this season.
Joao Pedro
At £60 million, Joao Pedro is easily the most expensive player on the list – but Chelsea did not fork out such a large sum of cash for no reason.
Pedro is starting to look like the forward that Chelsea have been crying out for. He is extremely skilled technically and can back it up with underrated strength on the ball.
So far, Pedro has two goals and three assists to his name for the Blues. At 24 years of age, he is still nowhere near his theoretical prime – who knows how good the Brazilian international could become?
Jaidon Anthony
While this list isn’t ranked in any particular order, we gave Jaidon Anthony the top spot regardless – it has been some time since such excellent value for money has been seen in the Premier League.
Anthony was snapped up by Burnley for a paltry fee of just £8 million. So far this season, he has outperformed practically every other winger in the division, scoring four goals and registering one assist in his first six games.
Few expected such an impact from the former Bournemouth man – but the Cherries’ loss is most certainly the Clarets’ gain in this case.
