3. Brighton
Like their bitter rivals Palace, Brighton have also scored six goals from set-pieces over the course of the 2025/26 Premier League season.
Despite this, Brighton are not the most aerially-dominant of teams – 3 of their 6 set-piece goals have been direct, rather than assisted goals. Two of them have been penalties, while the other came courtesy of a Danny Welbeck free kick.
With 14 goals to their name, Brighton are among the league’s highest-scoring teams – it’s no surprise that the Seagulls would end up on a list akin to this.
2. Chelsea
Chelsea are one of the three highest-scoring teams in the Premier League this season, alongside Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur. They’ve scored 17 goals so far, 9 of which have come from set-pieces.
Again, this can largely be chalked up to their ability to deliver balls into the box, rather than pure physicality. With adroit technicians such as Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez in the team, there is no mystery as how the Blues have been so successful from set plays.
We all know how effective Palmer is from the penalty spot, but Neto has also been very impressive this season – he scored a wonderful free kick against Nottingham Forest in a 3-0 victory.
1. Arsenal
Arsenal are the top of the Premier League table – and a large part of their success has come from Mikel Arteta’s attention to detail on set-pieces.
The Gunners have scored 16 Premier League goals this season, 11 of which have taken place during set-piece scenarios. The days of Arsene Wenger are long gone – Arsenal have found a new way to dominate their opposition.
They’re very well drilled on corners, with each player having a string understanding of their respective roles. William Saliba typically marks the goalkeeper, while one of Gabriel, Riccardo Calafiori or Jurrien Timber attacks the ball. Arteta often makes subtle changes to this approach to ensure maximum confusion within defenders – as the evidence would suggest, it works a treat.
