Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool on alert – Brazilian’s transfer decision imminent

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo has reportedly made a decision about his future, which could be huge news for the Premier League teams.

The Real Madrid winger has had difficulty cementing his place in the starting eleven since Kylian Mbappe arrived last summer. The problem only seems to be compounding this season with the arrival of Xabi Alonso as the manager, who has a slightly different approach to man management and tactical gameplay than his predecessor Carlo Ancelotti. Rodrygo shared an excellent relationship with the legendary Italian manager.

These developments have alerted Premier League giants like Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool who seem to be keen to have the young winger on their roster.  Rodrygo also seems to check a few boxes when we look at the shrewd transfer business carried out by Real Madrid when selling excess players to Premier League clubs in recent times – for instance Raphael Varane, Casemiro, Martin Odegaard, Mateo Kovacic, to name a few.

The Inspirational Rise of Rodrygo

Hailing from Brazil, Rodrygo was a part of Santos’ youth setup from the tender age of 10. Following his debut for the senior team at the age of 16, Los Blancos quickly came knocking and secured his services prematurely in 2018, before he joined the team formally in 2019.

The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus coupled with Gareth Bale’s lack of interest for football immediately created a massive void in the highly coveted (Bale, Benzema, Cristiano – BBC) front three of Real Madrid. Benzema was industrious and helped nurture two outstanding wingers in Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. The duo immediately slotted in and delivered results over the following seasons with Champions League and La Liga triumphs.

What can Rodrygo offer to the Premier League?

The 24 year old has attracted eye balls and praise for his quick burst of pace and extreme composure in front of goal – some traits that would be ideal for the Premier League. The English top flight has proven to be a testing atmosphere for several high profile signings whereas, Rodrygo seems like a player who will talk the talk and walk the walk with ease.

Arsenal have been monitoring the situation around the Santiago Bernabeu star but are rather careful in their approach according to Fabrizio Romano. Liverpool are on the hunt for an attacker and Rodrygo could be an amazing addition at Anfield – The Reds will also seek to avenge a recent transfer window defeat at the hands of Los Blancos in the form of Trent Alexander Arnold who the Spanish team paid an extra £10million to secure him in time for the club World Cup.

It seems there will be no lack of interest in the Samba star and after starting 5 games in a row on the bench at the Club World Cup under new Madrid boss Xabi Alonso, he would not be blamed for looking for another team. Firstly Rodrygo needs to talk to the Los Blancos hierarchy then once he knows where he stands he may decide he wants to move and the transfer battle will begin. Europe’s top clubs will all be in the frame for the skilful, goal-scoring forward as he is a top, top, game changer of a player.
