Here we go (almost) – Arsenal close to signing Crystal Palace attacker?

Arsenal are keen on securing the services of Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze. However, not all the lights seem to be green.

Reliable sources at Flashscore understand that there seems to be an air of uncertainty around the transfer of Eze in the Arsenal boardroom.

Mikel Arteta & Co. are seemingly unsure if the attacker will be a natural fit in the system that the Spanish manager will aim to deploy this season.

Will Arteta sign Eze?

In recent weeks, the Gunners have shown significant interest in the 27-year-old Englishman, discussing his release clause in hopes of making a successful bid. Despite intense media speculation, no transfer has materialised thus far.

Arsenal’s growing concerns over the transfer are valid and justified. The player is most effective in the central attacking areas – like a number 10 position.

That position at the Emirates Stadium is currently properly manned, and the big-money arrival of Eberechi Eze might not make much sense. Eze just does not have to be just added in the squad, but also properly utilised and given the minutes he deserves.

Other suitors for Eze

Arsenal going back-and-forth on this transfer decision has left the door open for other suitors to come knocking.  Crystal Palace have smartly taken advantage of the situation by trying to lure in other suitors like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

Eze has not made any transfer requests and will continue to honour the Crystal Palace jersey where he scored 14 goals and assisted on 11 occasions last season.

Despite showing no stubbornness to push for the exit doors, an offer triggering Eze’s release clause of £68 million could see the attacker moving on.

Arsenal have been busy in the transfer market with the arrivals of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.

Eze’s transfer could put the Gunners in a commanding position to challenge for the 2025/26 Premier League title and more.
