Profiling Arsenal’s new winger – some things you may not know

Arsenal secured the services of Noni Madueke from Chelsea this summer for a fee in excess of £48 million with some unsure it was a necessary addition.

Arsenal were keen on bolstering their attack for the upcoming season and the arrival of Madueke places them better for competing for major honours in the 2025/26 campaign. Gaffer, Mikel Arteta, highly rates the 23 year old attacker and Madueke will provide invaluable depth should the injury bug bite again.

The Englishman is vastly experienced on the European stage and also with international experience under his belt. Noni Madueke would also provide excellent cover for Bukayo Saka on the right wing.

A brief history of Madueke

Madueke was a promising footballer from London spending his youthful years in the academy at Crystal Palace before proceeding to play for Tottenham Hotspur. At Tottenham, Madueke first attracted attention when he captained the U-16 team and made his U-18 debut at the tender age of 15.

In 2018, Madueke took the difficult decision of leaving England and moving to the Netherlands to pursue his professional career at PSV Eindhoven. At PSV, the attacker burst onto the scene in his debut campaign with the senior team and continued to impress before Chelsea came knocking in January 2023.

On his return to London, the speedy attacker earned himself a reputation for his lethal pace and for providing for the team in some form or another. In the 2024/25 season, Madueke was involved in 11 goal contributions.

The final London destination?

After recently completing his big money switch to the red side of North London, the England international is expected to deliver another option in front of goal for Mikel Arteta’s side. His burst of pace and lethal attacking runs would be a worthy addition to Arsenal.

Occasionally Noni Madueke does have disciplinary issues which the Spanish boss will attempt to take care of. Here’s what Arteta said post the signing of Madueke –

“At just 23, Noni already brings experience of club and international football, and he knows the Premier League very well,
