5 players Arsenal have been linked with in the January window

The 2025/26 season has been a magical one for Arsenal fans so far. They look well on course to win their first Premier League title since 2004 – but could they boost their chances even more with some smart January transfer signings?

In this piece, we’ll be looking at five players who have been linked with the Gunners – could any of them make the jump to North London before the window slams shut?

Marc Guehi

Here is a name that should come as no surprise – Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi has been the subject of interest from several top clubs across Europe.

Naturally, Arsenal are among them. According to The Metro, Guehi is ‘open’ to an approach from the Gunners, but Liverpool and Arsenal remain the frontrunners for his signature.

Guehi is one of the most coveted defenders in the world at the moment. He has been outstanding for Palace and rarely puts a foot wrong in an England shirt – the Gunners already have a world-class defence, but if anyone can improve it, it’s Guehi.

Jeremy Jacquet

Jeremy Jacquet is a major rising star in football at the moment. A 20 year old defender, he has been fantastic for Rennes in Ligue 1 during the 2025/26 campaign.

According to journalist Pete O’Rourke [via Football Insider], Arsenal are firmly in the hunt for the Frenchman’s signature in January.

It isn’t quite that simple, however – both Liverpool and Chelsea are also thought to be interested in a move for the player.

Darryl Bakola

Arsenal are thought to be firmly in the hunt for Darryl Bakola – recently, it has transpired that the 18 year old rejected his most recent contract offer at Marseille [via The Metro].

Therefore, the door is now wide open for clubs to make a move. Arsenal aren’t the only interested outfit – Chelsea have also been linked with him in recent months.

Bakola is a very adaptable player, especially for such a young age. While he is primarily a central midfielder, he can also function as an attacking midfielder, a defensive midfielder and even as a centre-back if he is needed.

Breno Bidon

You may not have heard of Breno Bidon before reading this. Don’t worry – if he is anywhere near as good as certain audiences believe he is, then you soon will.

According to TNT Sports’ Brazilian branch, the Gunners have made contact with Bidon’s agent, but have yet to put forth an official transfer offer for the player.

He currently plays for Corinthians in the Brazilian League – his excellent passing and vision have led his admirers to compare him to Barcelona star Pedri.

Vinicius Jr

Don’t worry – we’re self aware enough to know how outlandish this proposed transfer move is. Nevertheless, rumours between Arsenal and Vinicius Jr persist [via The Independent].

With Vinicius Jr’s future at Real Madrid looking more uncertain with each passing day, Arsenal could swoop in and complete a deal.

Furthermore, rumours of a swap deal between he and Gabriel Martinelli have also begun to surface – who would benefit the most from this deal?
