Arsenal transfer window review – enough to win the PL?
Arsenal’s deadline day signing of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen rounded up an intense summer in north London. The Gunners are pushing to win the 2025/26 Premier League title under the guidance of Mikel Arteta after coming agonizingly close in the past few years.
Arsenal spent big money on transfers during the summer, which marked the arrival of eight new reinforcements for Mikel Arteta’s squad. Collectively, Arsenal spent over £350 million in the transfer market and tried to provide the Spanish tactician with all the necessary tools to achieve glory.
Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andre Berta, enjoyed a solid outing in the transfer market. The new boss was responsible for the high-profile arrivals of Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi and Noni Madueke. The Emirates faithful would be optimistic reflecting back on their team’s transfer activities this summer.
Who are the new arrivals?
Mikel Arteta’s costliest acquisitions this window were Viktor Gyokeres for £63.5 million and Eberechi Eze for £67.5 million from Crystal Palace. Gyokeres to Arsenal was amongst the most-awaited deals of the transfer period. The summer recruitment drive at Emirates Stadium this summer has remained focused on improving key areas in the squad. With the additional firepower upfront, the Gunners are expected to produce better results and challenge harder for domestic and European titles.
