Bayern boss drops massive update on Olise’s future amid interest from Chelsea, Liverpool & Man City

Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Christoph Freund, has spoken about the future of star winger, Michael Olise, among rising interest from suitors in the Premier League like Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. Reigning European champions, Paris Saint-Germain, are also known to be keeping tabs on the situation surrounding Olise.

Christoph Freund has seemingly addressed the recent media chatter about the future of Michael Olise at Allianz Arena. As reported by Essential Football before, the interested parties are willing to offer as much as £87 million to the Bundesliga giants. It is understood that Bayern Munich are preparing a new contract offer for Michael Olise.

The French international’s current contract runs until 2029, earning him £10 million a year. The German club believe that if they can sign a prolonged contract with Olise, along with a substantial pay hike, they would be able to fend off interest from other cash-rich suitors.

What did the Bayern Munich sporting director say?

The terms of Olise’s current contract provides Bayern Munich with a sufficient cushion. Christoph Freund has completely dismissed rumours linking Olise with a move away from Germany. The Bayern official further claimed that his side are under no pressure to sell the player. In fact, Freund further claimed that he can totally imagine Olise donning the Bayern colours for seven or eight years to come.

Speaking to Sky Sports Germany, Freund has been quoted as saying:

“We’re not under any pressure. We can imagine him playing for Bayern for the next seven, eight, nine years. Michael has a long-term contract, he proved himself and took steps forward”

What does this mean for Premier League suitors?

Olise has hit the ground running since his arrival in Bavaria. The player has become an instrumental part of the setup under Vincent Kompany, providing 54 goals and assists since arriving last year. The winger has also started the 2025/26 season on a marvellous note with 11 goal contributions in just 10 matches.

Bayern’s reluctance to sell their vital player in the coming summer might push clubs like Paris Saint-Germain to table higher bids to lure the German club into the negotiation room. Chelsea have previously failed to land Olise when the player decided not to join the Blues when he was playing for Crystal Palace. Liverpool & Manchester City will enjoy the addition of a quality player like Olise, but it remains to be seen if they will go absolutely wild in the bidding race.
