Chelsea reignites interest in £61m rated Kenan Yildiz
Enzo Maresca is keen on adding the services of Kenan Yildiz to his Chelsea team. The Turkish forward currently plays for Juventus in the Serie A, and has attracted attention from across Europe credit to his stellar performances. This is not the first instance that the Blues have been linked with a move for the talented attacker.
In the summer transfer window, Chelsea tried their best to get their hands on Yildiz and also tabled an offer worth £61 million, which was turned down by Juventus. In Turin, Yildiz is seen as an important part of the squad and is already tied down to the team with a massive contract until 2029.
Kenan Yildiz has started the 2025/26 season splendidly and has majorly helped the Old Lady in Serie A. Yildiz has scored one goal and provided three assists, the highest in the Italian league so far this year. Juventus are among the two teams who are yet to taste defeat this season.
Chelsea’s focus
Chelsea’s summer transfer window largely focused on providing Enzo Maresca with the right tools in attack. Stamford Bridge saw the arrival of Joao Pedro, Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho and Liam Delap to bolster Chelsea’s attacking line. The top brass at the London-based club are still keen to add an attacker like Yildiz, who carries tremendous potential and could massively improve Chelsea’s chances of winning silverware. According to a report published by Goal, the Blues are back in the hunt for Yildiz after a failed attempt to sign the attacker earlier this year.
Yildiz contract situation
Kenan Yildiz is keen on prolonging his stay at the Allianz Stadium. Juventus view him as an important cog in the team and are in absolutely no rush to capitalise on his transfer away from Turin. However, negotiations between Juventus and Yildiz’s agent have believed to have slowed down in recent weeks. Yildiz is aiming for higher pay after putting in some sensational displays for the club. However, Juventus are not entirely convinced and might prefer to delay the contract renewal talks to have a perfect gauge of the situation. This vacuum leaves space for suitors like Chelsea to move in and act swiftly.
Chelsea will need to put their best foot forward, as they are not the only European giant monitoring the situation around Yildiz. La Liga giants, Barcelona, are also impressed by the Turkish player and will certainly give Chelsea a run for their money when the transfer market opens. Juventus will now have the difficult decision to make between holding on to Yildiz or cashing out on him with a couple of interested parties across Europe.
