The league phase of the 2025/26 Europa League is almost complete. With just two games to go before the playoffs and the knockout rounds begin, who made it into our team of the week for gameweek six?
It was a night to forget for Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen – meanwhile, Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa both recorded crucial wins. But who were the top indivdual performers?
GK: Florian Wiegele
Viktoria Plzen goalkeeper Florian Wiegele had an almighty job on his hands when his team were reduced to ten men against Panathinaikos, but he managed to thrive under the pressure.
Wiegele made four saves to preserve Plzen’s clean sheet as the game petered out to a 0-0 draw – Rafa Benitez’s men remained frustrated.
RB: Victor Gomez
Victor Gomez was instrumental in Sporting Braga’s win over bottom club OGC Nice, as the Portuguese outfit picked up a win that saw them move into the top eight.
Not only did Gomez help his team keep a clean sheet amid their 1-0 win, he also found the assist for the only goal of the game.
CB: Jayden Oosterwolde
Fenerbahce were rampant when they took on Norweigian outfit Brann, demolishing their opponents by a score of 4-0 away from home.
Jayden Oosterwolde helped to maintain a clean sheet and also registered an assist – it was a very strong display from the 24-year-old.
CB: Ousmane Diao
Starlet Ousmane Diao is enjoying a breakout season at Danish club FC Midtjylland – at just 21 years of age, he has massive potential.
His talents were on full display against Genk, as he put in a battling performance to help his team keep a clean sheet in a 1-0 win.
