Fantasy Premier League: FPL Gameweek Six Winners & Losers
The sixth gameweek of the 2025/26 Premier League season is now in the books. How did your Fantasy Premier League team get on this week?
We’ll be looking at all the biggest winners and losers from the most recent set of fixtures. The balance seems to have shifted this week – one player in particular has set a frightening standard for the rest of the season. No prizes for guessing who he is – if you’ve been playing FPL this year, you probably already know!
Goalkeepers
Once again, Sunderland shot-stopper Robin Roefs picked up the highest total of FPL points this week. He put in a phenomenal display against Nottingham Forest as the Black Cats recorded an invaulable win at the City Ground.
Sunderland were the only Premier League team to keep a clean sheet this weekend – as such, Roefs was the only keeper to register a boon of points – he scored ten in total.
It’s hard to pick an overall ‘loser’ between the sticks for this week, but we’ll go with Burnley’s Martin Dubravka. He let five goals in against Manchester City, but at a meagre price of £4.0, FPL players who had him in their squad won’t be too disappointed.
Defenders
Omar Alderete was this week’s player of the gameweek, accumulating a massive total of 17 points. He scored the only goal of the game in Sunderland’s win over Nottingham Forest – as such, he also collected a clean sheet and the maximum bonus points.
There are two standout picks for the loser of this week. Trevoh Chalobah picked up a red card for Chelsea against Brighton and was slapped with a points total of -3 – a crippling blow for the players who deployed him this week.
He wasn’t the only one who was sent home with a negative points total, though. Maxime Esteve scored two own goals against Manchester City for Burnley, netting him -2 points. It could’ve been much worse, were it not for the 12 defensive contributions he made.
Midfielders
The biggest winner from midfield this week took everyone by surprise – Sean Longstaff collected a very healthy total of 15 points during Leeds United’s game against Bournemouth. He assisted Joe Rodon for the Whites’ first goal of the game and scored the second, though Leeds could only muster a draw.
Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes let his FPL owners down this week. After a brilliant display against Chelsea last week that saw him net 10 points, he came away with -1 against Brentford after he missed a penalty. It was a hammer blow for Manchester United – and anyone who captained him for gameweek six.
Forwards
Yes, you all guessed it – Erling Haaland was this week’s highest-scoring forward, collecting 16 points for his two-goal performance against Burnley at the Etihad Stadium. If you don’t have him in your team, now is the time to work him in. Do not be fooled by his relatively lacklustre turnout in the previous season – Haaland is taking the 25/26 campaign by the scruff of the neck. He really is a ‘generational talent’.
Brentford’s Igor Thiago is also worthy of praise. He’s very cheap at £6.0 and scored two goals against Manchester United, giving him 13 points after all was said and done. Could he be this year’s best budget striker?
Alexander Isak, on the other hand, has yet to get his Liverpool career up and running. He once again failed to score for the Reds this week – but one must assume that he will begin finding the back of the net sooner, rather than later.
