Fantasy Premier League: FPL Winners & Losers
Another day, another gameweek of Fantasy Premier League is in the books. Who were this week’s highest individual scorers in FPL?
It was a positive period for the likes of Aston Villa, Chelsea and Manchester City – but how many points did their players score? Let’s take a look.
Goalkeepers
Robin Roefs, despite having little to do in Sunderland’s win over Newcastle United, is this week’s star goalkeeper. He only made two saves, but was nonetheless handed the maximum bonus points, giving him a healthy total of nine points.
Elsewhere, Manchester City’s Gianluigi Donnarumma and Liverpool’s Alisson both scored seven points for keeping a clean sheet against Crystal Palace and Brighton, respectively.
Sam Johnstone, on the other hand, came away with a total of -1 points this week. It was unfortunate, as the Wolves shot-stopper scored an accidental own goal against Arsenal, despite making a few good saves before this.
Defenders
Chelsea’s Malo Gusto was by far and away this week’s top scoring defender. A goal, an assist and a clean sheet gave him 18 points for his display against Everton.
Additionally, Manchester City star Matheus Nunes racked up 11 points, while Sunderland’s Reinildo scored 10.
At the other end of the spectrum, we had to pick Marc Guehi as our worst-performing defender. It was a bad day at the office for Crystal Palace in general, but we chose Guehi to bare the brunt of our criticism as he is the most expensive of the bunch.
Midfielders
Nottingham Forest ace Callum Hudson-Odoi has experienced a stop-start beginning to the campaign, but he made his mark on Sunday afternoon against Tottenham Hotspur. Two goals and an assist gave him this week’s highest individual points total as he scored a rapturous 19 points.
He wasn’t the only Forest play to bring home a boon of points, as Ibrahim Sangare scored 18. Meanwhile, Harry Wilson scored 16 points for Fulham against Burnley, while Morgan Rogers’ two goals against West Ham United gave him 15 points.
However, it was another poor outing for Eberechi Eze, who scored just one point against a frail Wolverhampton Wanderers outfit. Plenty of FPL players transferred him in after he scored an emphatic hattrick in the North London derby, but he has failed to notch up a goal contribution in the Premier League since.
Forwards
You guessed it – Erling Haaland is the highest-scoring forward in FPL for yet another gameweek. Despite this, though, he has to share his pedestal with Hugo Ekitike this week, as they each scored 13 points for their respective teams.
Leeds United’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s revival also continued this week, as he scored in his fourth Premier League game in a row against Brentford. Jarrod Bowen was on hand to find the back of the net too, following a dip in form for the Hammers talisman.
Nick Woltemade, on the other hand, was very poor against Sunderland. He scored a wonderful headed goal in the Tyne-Wear derby – unfortunately, it was at the wrong end. As such, he ended the week with zero points.
