Germany World Cup Player Ratings Vs Ecuador – One Player Gets 1/10 After Dreadful Display

Germany were stunned by Ecuador in their final group game of the 2026 World Cup. Despite opening their account after just one minute and 49 seconds, they were ground down and pegged back by La Tricolor over the course of 90 minutes.

GK: Manuel Neuer – 3

Manuel Neuer is one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, but you wouldn’t have guessed it from this unsteady performance. We’ll let him off for the first goal, but that can’t excuse the glut of other errors he made.

The second goal, in particular, was very poor from him. Attempting to collect the ball under pressure, he was beaten to the punch by Gonzalo Plata, who duly stabbed the ball beyond him.

RB: Joshua Kimmich – 5

Joshua Kimmich started the game as a right-back, then shifted to the right side of a back three as Julian Naglesmann altered Germany’s formation – sadly, he didn’t really thrive in either role.

He did his best against a barrage of Ecuador attacks, but his age and lack of pace meant he was always going to struggle in a game such as this.

CB: Antonio Rudiger – 4

Antonio Rudiger is often the most confident player on the pitch, but he certainly wasn’t against Ecuador – he looked unsettled throughout.

Never made to look comfortable, the aging defender struggled to contain the electric pace of La Tricolor’s attack throughout the 90 minutes.

CB: Jonathan Tah – 3

Rudiger wasn’t great, but Jonathan Tah was certainly the worse of the two. Tah was bullied in this one, looking erratic and unsure of himself.

A mix-up between he and Neuer almost cost Germany a goal in the second half – they’ll both have to share a portion of the blame for that blunder.
