Grading ALL of Chelsea’s 2025/26 Summer Signings

Chelsea have enjoyed a decent start to the 2025/26 Premier League season. There have been a few ups and downs, but the campaign has been largely positive for the Blues thus far.

For the first season in what feels like forever, Chelsea’s exploits in the transfer market have not been widely panned by critics and pundits alike. They still spent plenty of money – some of it wasted – but they made some sensible signings and brought genuinely top quality players to Stamford Bridge during the transfer window.

Today, we’ll look at every signing completed by Chelsea in the summer and give them a grade based on their performances at the club so far. We’ll also take their potential into account – some of the players they signed are not yet operating at the peak of their powers.

Liam Delap

Liam Delap was a smart signing by Chelsea – following the departure of Nicolas Jackson, they needed a backup striker to go along with Joao Pedro. Delap was the perfect candidate, as a young, home-grown talent who offers something completely different to what Pedro does. His season has been hampered due to injury, but he will begin to shine sooner, rather than later.

Grade: B-

Dario Essugo

It’s difficult to grade Dario Essugo as he was immediately loaned out to Las Palmas upon his arrival at the club – as such, we won’t be giving him a score here.

Grade: N/A

Mamadou Sarr

Mamadou Sarr is in a similar situation to Essugo – he, too, was also loaned out before playing a game for Chelsea. Currently, he plays for Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

Grade: N/A

Kendry Paez

Kendry Paez went the same way as Sarr – he is at Strasbourg on a loan deal, though Chelsea fans will be excited to see what he can do in the Premier League when his loan deal expires.

Grade: N/A

Jorrel Hato

Jorrel Hato has not taken to the Premier League well – he has struggled when he has been called upon by Enzo Maresca. As a 19 year old, his best years are still well ahead of him, but we can’t give him anything higher than a C presently.

Grade: C-
