Medical booked – Man City ready to sign ‘world-class’ player

Gianluigi Donnarumma is only a medical away from completing his transfer to Manchester City, moving from one Middle-East backed project to another. The goalkeeper is not a part of the plans at Paris Saint-Germain despite helping the Parisians win the UEFA Champions League last season.

The Italian shot stopper’s future had been subject to intense media scrutiny throughout the summer, including interest from Manchester City’s arch-rivals, Manchester United. Gianluigi Donnarumma is now close to signing for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, with the player set to undergo a medical today.

What’s cooking in Paris?

Football transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano has shed light on this transfer, also confirming that Turkish side Fenerbahce are close to signing Manchester City outcast Ederson. The Turkish team are presenting their improvised offer to the Citizens in order to get the go-ahead for the Ederson deal.

Pep Guardiola is on the hunt for another shot-stopper despite completing the signing of James Trafford from Burnley. Trafford cost the Citizens £31 million. Guardiola was unconvinced by Trafford’s performance in the defeat against Tottenham Hotspur.

Donnarumma would be an excellent addition to a stellar-looking Manchester City squad – the only doubt is his ability with the ball at his feet which Guardiola prioritises as does the PSG boss Luis Enrique who seems to be willing to let the keeper leave because of this.

Fallout at Paris Saint-Germain

Gianluigi Donnarumma is considered to be among the best goalkeepers in the world, and Luis Enrique’s sudden change of perspective on the Italian left many in disbelief but again it’s his footballing skills not his shot stopping ability that has caused the PSG manager’s position.

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to part ways with the goalkeeper who has not featured for the club since the Club World Cup held in the United States of America. Spanish boss, Luis Enrique, considers Donnarumma surplus to requirements at the Parc des Princes this season.

The two clubs will hold final discussions on deadline day in a bid to push through with the deal before the 7pm deadline, while the Italian international will try to clear the medical formalities.

Another player Manchester City can sign on deadline day

Manchester City will aim to end the transfer window in style with a last-minute signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma after suffering another Premier League defeat at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday. The home side scored two second-half goals after Erling Haaland scored for City in the 34th minute of the game.
