Kwon Hyeok-Kyu is a name that is quickly making waves in the football world. Born on 13 March 2001 in South Korea, this talented defensive midfielder has showcased his skills across multiple leagues, earning recognition for his determination and ambition. Kwon's football journey began at the under-12 level with K League club Busan IPark, where he honed his skills for a decade before making the leap to the senior team in July 2019. He made his professional debut shortly thereafter, starting in a K League 2 match against Jeonnam Dragons. His performance helped Busan secure promotion to K League 1, marking his entry into the top tier of South Korean football. In April 2021, he was enlisted in the military team Gimcheon Sangmu, where he not only fulfilled his service but also played a pivotal role in clinching the K League 2 title in 2021, solidifying his reputation as a dependable midfielder.

After completing his military service, Kwon returned to Busan in September 2022. His talents soon attracted the attention of Celtic, a prominent club in the Scottish Premiership. However, his time at Celtic began without first-team appearances, leading to a loan move to St Mirren in January 2024, where he made 29 appearances, demonstrating his potential on the pitch.
