Bernd Leno

Bernd Leno, born on 4 March 1992 in Bietigheim-Bissingen, Baden-Württemberg, has established himself as one of Germany's standout goalkeepers. Known for his quick reflexes and commanding presence in the box, Leno's journey through professional football has seen him achieve significant milestones and earn a reputation as a reliable last line of defence.

Leno's professional career began at VfB Stuttgart, where he progressed through their youth ranks. In May 2011, he extended his contract with the club, becoming a regular in the VfB Stuttgart II reserve team. However, it was his move to Bayer Leverkusen in August 2011 that truly launched his career. After a successful loan spell, which included a remarkable debut against Werder Bremen where he became one of the few goalkeepers to keep a clean sheet in his first three Bundesliga matches, Leno's transfer was made permanent later that year. Over the next seven years, he made over 300 appearances for Leverkusen, showcasing his talent on the European stage, including becoming the youngest German goalkeeper to play in a Champions League match at just 19 years old.

In 2018, Leno took a significant step in his career by joining Arsenal. His time at the Gunners was marked by consistent performances, culminating in a runner-up finish for the Arsenal Player of the Season Award in the 2019–20 campaign. Over four seasons, he accumulated 100 appearances, contributing to the team's defensive stability and often making crucial saves in pivotal matches.

As of 2022, Leno is proudly representing Fulham in the Premier League, bringing his wealth of experience to a new challenge.
