Davy Klaassen

Davy Klaassen, born on 21 February 1993, is a dynamic midfielder who has established himself as a key figure at Ajax and the Netherlands national team. Known for his leadership qualities and technical ability, Klaassen currently captains Ajax, bringing experience and skill to the heart of the midfield. His journey in professional football began at a young age, showcasing his potential early on in the Ajax Youth Academy.

Klaassen's footballing odyssey commenced at local amateur side HVV de Zebra's before he joined HSV Wasmeer. However, it was his move to Ajax in 2004 that set the stage for his future success. During his time with the Ajax A1 youth squad, he played a pivotal role in clinching the Nike Eredivisie title in the 2011-12 season and made a notable impact in the NextGen Series, finishing as runners-up. His performances at youth level earned him a swift promotion to the first team, where he made his professional debut in November 2011 against Olympique Lyonnais in the UEFA Champions League.

After his debut, Klaassen quickly made his mark in the Eredivisie, scoring just 42 seconds after coming on as a substitute in his league debut against NEC.
