Mika Godts

Mika Marcel Godts, born on 7 June 2005 in Leuven, Belgium, is an emerging talent in the world of football, currently showcasing his skills as a winger for Eredivisie giants Ajax. Known for his pace and technical ability, Godts has quickly made a name for himself since making his professional debut at the tender age of 17. His journey through football began at a young age, honing his craft in the youth setup of Anderlecht before making a pivotal move to Genk in 2020.

Godts' career took off at Genk, where he joined the reserve team, Jong Genk, competing in the Challenger Pro League. During the 2022–23 season, he made 19 appearances, netting an impressive 7 goals, which showcased his potential and attracted interest from several clubs as his contract neared its end. Opting for a new challenge, he signed with Ajax on 31 January 2023 for a fee of €1 million, a transfer that included a sell-on clause, indicating the high expectations surrounding his future.

Upon joining Ajax, Godts initially played for Jong Ajax, where he made an immediate impact, scoring on his debut in a 4–2 victory over MVV Maastricht in the Eerste Divisie. His performances earned him a rapid promotion to the first team, leading to his Eredivisie debut on 9 April 2023, where he contributed to a commanding 4–0 win against Fortuna Sittard. Despite a challenging encounter in the 2023 KNVB Cup final against PSV Eindhoven, where Ajax fell short in a penalty shoot-out, Godts showcased his composure by converting his spot-kick.

Internationally, Godts represented Belgium at the U17 level, making 8 appearances and scoring 1 goal between 2021 and 2022.
