Premier League Team of the Week XI
The 2025/26 Premier League isn’t far away from its conclusion. This week, four teams did not play, due to the League Cup final – meaning that we won’t see any Crystal Palace, Wolves, Manchester City or Arsenal players this time around.
Nevertheless, we saw some big wins for teams such as Everton, Nottingham Forest and Sunderland – but who made it into our team of the week XI?
GK: Caoimhín Kelleher
Caoimhin Kelleher continues to be one of the most underrated goalkeepers in the Premier League – he was flawless against Leeds United at the weekend.
Leeds put Brentford under some heavy fire as they looked to bolster their survival chances, but Kelleher made four saves to shut the Whites out at Elland Road.
RB: Jake O’Brien
That was a win that Everton fans won’t forget for a long, long time. Jake O’Brien had a tough task ahead of him in containing Pedro Neto and Marc Cucurella, but he kept the pair of them quiet over the course of 90 minutes.
He put his physicality and defensive acumen to good use against Chelsea, playing a key role in Everton’s 3-0 win at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
CB: Jaka Bijol
Leeds haven’t been enormously air-tight at the back this season, but Jaka Bijol can always be called upon to put forth a battling display from the heart of defence.
Leeds and Brentford both cancelled each other out – in particular, Bijol did his best to keep the dangerous Igor Thiago quiet. Thiago has scored 19 Premier League goals this season, but he couldn’t conjure one up against the West Yorkshire club.
CB: Ethan Pinnock
Everything Jaka Bijol did for Leeds against Brentford, Ethan Pinnock repaid the Whites in kind. A monolith at the back, Daniel Farke’s men simply couldn’t find a way beyond him.
Winning seven aerial duels and making some excellent challenges to deny the Whites, he was imperative in securing Brentford’s clean sheet.
