Premier League Team of the Week for Gameweek 10? Do you agree?
Another scintillating Premier League gameweek is passing us by. With big wins for Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City, who made it into our team of the week?
We’ll be sticking to tradition, using the classic 4-4-2 formation for this XI. Players from Fulham, Brighton and Crystal Palace all made the cut – but who are they?
Update: after captain Granit Xhaka‘s performance for Sunderland vs Everton he has to make the PL Team of the Week pushing the BlackCats into the top 4! Who he pushes out we’ll leave it up to you.
GK: Giorgi Mamardashvili
This week didn’t see a particularly outstanding goalkeeping performance, but Liverpool’s Giorgi Mamardashvili will be happy to have picked up his first clean sheet in a Liverpool shirt.
He made three saves against Aston Villa as the Reds ran out as 2-0 victors at Anfield.
RB: Kenny Tete
Kenny Tete put in a textbook modern fullback display against Wolves, as Fulham defeated their visitors by a score of 3-0.
He kept Wolves’ attacking output quiet whilst making a nuisance of himself down the right flank.
CB: Gabriel
Is Gabriel the best centre-back in the Premier League? His partner at Arsenal William Saliba might have something to say about his inclusion.
His performance at the weekend lent credence to this theory, as he kept a clean sheet and notched up an assist against Burnley at Turf Moor.
CB: Marc Guehi
Marc Guehi is maintaining his prestige as one of the best defenders in the Premier League. Against a tricky Brentford outfit, he held firm, gluing the Crystal Palace’s backline together and enabling their victory.
LB: Nico O’Reilly
Is it time for Nico O’Reilly to start playing in England’s senior team? Many would say yes.
His performance on Sunday would suggest so – he scored a wonderful goal from the inverted fullback position against Bournemouth as City saw off the Cherries.
RM: Rayan Cherki
Rayan Cherki proved his worth to the world on Sunday afternoon – at times, he looked unplayable as Bournemouth’s defenders scrambled to contain him.
He is starting to show why Pep was willing to let City legend Kevin de Bruyne leave for Napoli. Cherki is showing what he is all about as the season develops and his connection with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland is only getting stronger.
