Arsenal Invincible predicts which London club will be relegated this season
One of West Ham United or Tottenham will be playing Championship football next season, and with two Premier League games to go, it’s going down to the wire.
It’s squeaky bum time at the foot of the Premier League. The relegation scrap between West Ham United and Tottenham has offered plenty of twists and turns over the last few weeks.
After Arsenal controversially beat West Ham last weekend thanks to what some people – not us – were calling an iffy VAR call, it looked like the Irons were doomed, but then Doctor Tottenham provided Nuno’s men with a timely tonic: they could only muster a home draw with Leeds United and they were lucky to leave with a point.
It leaves things tighter than a ducks proverbial at the foot of the table with two fixtures remaining.
Parlour predicts future
Asked to offer an opinion on the opposite end of the table to his boyhood club Arsenal, Parlour outlined who he thinks will be playing in the lower tier next year.
Speaking to 10bet, Parlour said: “I think West Ham might go down now. I think Tottenham have got that little bit of… I know they’ll be regretting the other night against Leeds. Leeds did really well in the second half, and Kinsky made a great save that could have made it 2-1 to Leeds—then suddenly Tottenham would be in real trouble.
“This weekend is massive for both sides. Tottenham aren’t playing, but West Ham go to Newcastle, so all eyes will be on that to see if they can get something—a draw, maybe.”
Gunners fans wouldn’t swap title for Tottenham relegation
During the same interview, the Romford Pele was asked if some Arsenal fans would rather see their north London rivals Tottenham relegated instead of ending a 22-year wait to become champions of England.
Parlour dismissed that notion out of hand, saying: “Oh, I’d be amazed if they didn’t say Arsenal winning the league! Look, it’s a rivalry, but you’ve got to think about yourselves; don’t worry about what happens elsewhere. It’d be a disaster for Spurs, don’t get me wrong—what with the stadium and all that—but I would always say Arsenal winning the league all day long. It’s all about yourselves and celebrating that. Whatever happens down the bottom can sort itself out; you just worry about yourselves and make sure you win that title. I’m sure hopefully a lot of Arsenal fans will be in my camp there!”
