Rodrygo in, Gyökeres in – dream Arsenal XI to win the title if attacking duo are signed

Arsenal missed out on the Premier League title last time around and will be gunning for their first one since 2004. Under Mikel Arteta Arsenal have seemed closer than ever to achieving this feat.

The Gunners have been linked with a number of high profile transfers this summer and this year could well be the time to cut lose on the celebrations in North London. We at Essential Football have put together Arsenal’s Dream XI that would help the gunners clinch their maiden league title in 2 decades.

With Liverpool the Champions and Chelsea looking like a force to be reckoned with, the Gunners will need all the help they can get and will need to get off to a fast start.

Here is Arsenal’s Dream XI with a few shocking inclusions in the 4-3-3 lineup –

Who will be in defense?

David Raya has established himself as the clear favorite between the sticks and will continue to hold down his position in the starting lineup. Jurrien Timber has returned from injury and never looked back, a lot is expected out of the right back for the coming season.

William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães will be the likely centre-back pairing for Mikel Arteta – with the duo displaying extreme skill at the heart of Arsenal’s defense. The left back position will be held by Myles Lewis-Skelly who was largely impressive in his breakthrough season.

Who will patrol the midfield?

Martin Zubimendi is set to act as the pivot between Martin Odegaard and Declan Rice. The new arrival shoulders the heavy burden of expectations from the Emirates faithful and Spaniard should come out on top at the end of the season.

Odegaard and Rice are hard to displace from midfield with the Norwegian being the club captain and Rice cementing his place in the lineup with crunch performances like the Champions League fixture against Real Madrid.

Who will lead the attack?

Expected big money summer arrival – Viktor Gyökeres will be taking center stage in the attacking eleven with star attacker Bukayo Saka to his right and fellow new arrival Rodrygo out to his left.

Saka is absolutely untouchable in the eleven with the star man being the focus of the gunners attacking play. Gyökeres and Rodrygo will completely transform Arsenal’s attacking lineup and might provide them with the X Factor to take them across the finishing line that seemed to be missing last season.

Key Features of the Dream XI –

  • Arteta is expected to deploy the 4-3-3 Formation
  • Extreme defensive solidity with center back pairing of Saliba and Gabriel and midfield duo of Rice and Zubimendi.
  • This will allow Gyökeres, Rodrygo, Saka and Odegaard the pleasure to dictate terms in the attacking third.
