Arsenal History
Arsenal are one of the most well-known and well supported football clubs in the world. They are recognised all over the world via the Premier League’s success and have a rich and colourful history.
Arsenal was officially founded by Scotsman David Danskin and a group of 15 munitions workers at the Royal Arsenal in Woolwich in October 1886. The club went through multiple monikers before the name we know them by today.
Later, the club turned professional and formed an LLC, Royal Arsenal was rechristened as Woolwich Arsenal. Woolwich Arsenal would keep their name until April 1914, when they would become The Arsenal. Five years later, the club became simply Arsenal.
Arsenal enjoyed great success under managers like George Graham and Arsene Wenger and have won 13 PL/1st Division titles and 14 FA Cups as well as numerous other trophies.
