Atletico Madrid History
Founded in 1903, the red and white half of the Spanish capital boasts one of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Led by manager Argentinian Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid have proven to be one of La Liga’s elite teams in recent years with an impressive defensive record and are known as being very hard to beat.
They have somewhat been in the shadow of Real Madrid but having moved to the world class Riyadh Air Metropolitano, which has a capacity of 70,692 they are capable of competing both on and off the pitch with their city rivals.
The club has won 11 La Liga titles, 10 Copa del Reys and 3 Europa League as well as many other trophies.
