Barcelona History

FC Barcelona was founded in 1899 by a group of Catalan, Swiss, German and English footballers led by Joan Gamper.

Often referred to as Barca, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture.

The team plays at the legendary Nou Camp and is the main rival to Real Madrid who they play in matches known as “El Classico”.

The club enjoyed huge success under former player Pep Guardiola and have won 28 La Liga titles as well as 5 Champions Leagues amongst numerous other trophies.
