Fulham History
Founded by churchgoers at the local Church of England in 1879, Fulham were initially christened St Andrew’s Cricket & Football Club and moved to their iconic Craven Cottage stadium in 1896.
They turned professional in 1898, gaining access to the Southern League as a result. They went onto win the Southern League First Division title in 1906 and 1907.
Upon the formation of the English Football League, Fulham enjoyed regular stints in the top flight before suffering back to back relegations in 1969 and 1970.
Their downward trajectory continued, bottoming out when they fell into League Two in 1994. Nevertheless, they would rise again, gaining promotion back to the Premier League in 2001. Despite a handul of relegations, their healthy financial status has secured their spot in the top flight.
