5 Free Agents available this summer
The transfer rumour mill goes into overdrive in the off season, and many players are out of contract and available for free to sign by Europe’s top clubs. We take a look at 5 of the more interesting ones.
The modern day world of football has made transfers seem more complex with players prioritizing their personal gains over their teams financial benefit. Free agents signings have increasingly become a way of potentially grabbing a bargain in the transfer window and of course these players are also free to sign in the off-season if they don’t secure a deal in the summer transfer window.
We at Essential Football have listed 5 talented free agents that could be worthy additions for Premier League heavyweights like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United –
Leroy Sane
The German winger is running out of contract this July and has been heavily linked with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal being touted as a destination before the Noni Madueke deal was confirmed.
The signing of the German international will be a score for any of the sides linked with him due his extensive PL experience but who might sign him seems like tough question given the signings all the top sides have made in wide areas.
Chelsea do have room in their squad possibly but he does not fit the profile of players they sign and they already need to move Raheem Sterling on after not taking up their option on Jadon Sancho.
Jamie Vardy
Jamie Vardy, linked heavily with a move to Sunderland, has been terrorising defences in the Premier League at will; however, the striker was unsuccessful in keeping Leicester City afloat.
The 38 year old striker’s contract has not been renewed and he is available as a free agent who can score goals which has him linked with numerous clubs.
Despite age not being on his side, Vardy has netted over 200 goals in the Premier League and his experience could come in handy for possible suitors like Manchester United or Everton.
Thomas Muller
Many might have not been wrong to assume that Muller would have closed the curtains on his career at Bayern Munich, however the attacker has rather shockingly decided to part ways by not renewing with the Allianz Arena side. as reported on Bayern’s official site.
The arrival of Vincent Kompany at the position of gaffer made attaining game time extremely difficult for the German striker.
Several suitors could emerge in the English top flight for the 35 year old legend after Manchester United were credited with a serious interest a few years back but could not convince the Bayern legend to join them.

Sergio Reguillon
The Spanish full back has not had the best of times at Tottenham with game time – with only 56 appearances the white of Spurs.
Loan experiences at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford along with his resume bagging the stamp of Real Madrid, Reguillon is a talented full-back in the defensive line who offers a serious attacking threat as he loves to get forward.
At his peak he could get into top European sides but on current form it’s hard to see any PL teams picking him up unless they just want to add squad depth.
Hakim Ziyech
After a poor campaign in Turkey with Galatasaray – a memory best let go of for the Moroccan international and former Chelsea man Hakim Ziyech is going to be once again available as a free agent.
Not only did Ziyech have a torrid time in Turkey, but his stint in Qatar has been rather disappointing as well but as they say form is temporary and class is permanent.
Being a proven winner from his days at Ajax and despite his underwhelming spell at Chelsea, Ziyech could be once again attracting attention from teams like Newcastle United, Everton and Fulham.
We shall see what happens but all these players could be bargains if they can rediscover previous performance levels.
