Tottenham dealt massive transfer blow as deal collapses for playmaker
Tottenham have been widely linked with a move for Serie A midfielder, Nico Paz, who plays for Como. The player is a product of the famous La Fabrica academy of Real Madrid.
Nico Paz has been phenomenal since bursting onto the scene with Real Madrid and later securing a move to Como. The player was once again the centre of attraction as he scored and assisted in Como’s 2-0 victory over Lazio this weekend.
The 20 year old Argentine midfielder has justified the buzz surrounding him in the transfer market with impeccable performances. Paz has put the intense media scrutiny to rest after his teams victory at the Estadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia.
What is the latest development?
The player emphasised that he is entirely focused on the project at Como for the current season. The player further went on to state that he was unbothered by all the chatter in the media surrounding his transfer. The player was quoted as saying –
“The transfer market? I didn’t listen to anything, I stayed focused on preparing for the season. Let’s hope everything goes well and that we can reach the highest possible level.”
Over the course of the weekend, Tottenham tabled two offers for the South American prodigy and were rejected on both the occasions. The Italian side have remained determined over their stance of Nico Paz and continued to turn a deaf ear to possible suitors.
Despite beating Manchester City 0-2 in the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Tottenham enjoyed a poor outing in the transfer market this weekend. Two bids made by the London side were both turned down by Como.

The Real Madrid angle
Being a Real Madrid academy graduate, Los Blancos were sharp in including a right to match clause and a buy-back clause in their sale agreement with Como for Nico Paz last summer.
The buy-back clause comes into effect next summer and it is understood that Real Madrid will come sweeping in to strike a deal if they see a good fit.
Nico Paz is fixated on a return to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and will be gunning for the same next summer. This old romance of Paz could majorly impact Tottenham’s transfer plans this summer. It remains to be seen if Thomas Frank is able to fill the number 10 void created by the injury to James Maddison.
