Tottenham set to beat Arsenal & Liverpool in race to sign Brazilian winger

Tottenham Hotspur have entered the fray to secure the services of Real Madrid star winger, Rodrygo. The player is not central to Xabi Alonso’s plans in the Spanish capital this season and could soon be allowed to leave on a temporary deal.

Real Madrid were reluctant throughout the summer and even refused to entertain offers for Rodrygo. However, Xabi’s moves on the pitch have left the club with no choice but to seek temporary arrangements for their lethal attacker.

The 24-year-old forward was not called into action in Madrid’s La Liga curtain raiser against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. The displeasure on Rodrygo’s face was evident when the camera panned on him during his warm-up routine.

The arrival of Xabi Alonso has marked the beginning of an uphill battle for the winger at Real Madrid. The Spanish boss has reshuffled the pecking order at the Bernabeu and Rodrygo is evidently not a top priority.

The transfer details

According to credible sources, Real Madrid are now convinced that sending Rodrygo out on loan could be the best arrangement for the club. Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as the likely destination for Rodrygo this summer.

Throughout the summer, several clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool and Bayern Munich were attributed with moves for the Brazilian. However, the clubs are seemingly more focused on permanent transfers and have not diverted their attention elsewhere.

Tottenham Hotspur perfectly fit the bill from Los Blancos’ perspective. The club will be able to loan out their star player to a Champions League bound Premier League team that will also cover Rodrygo’s enormous wage demands. An option to buy clause at the end of the contract is strictly off the cards at this stage of the talks.
