After transfer window spending – who are PL relegation favourites

In 2024/25, the three promoted teams – Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton – were all relegated without much of a fight. Will we see a repeat of this in 2025/26?

The Premier League is becoming more and more unforgiving for promoted teams. Can Leeds United, Burnley and Sunderland beat the drop this season?

Today, we’ll look at each of their respective dealings and evaluate their chances of survival based on that but they really cannot compare to the Liverpool summer transfer window unsurprisingly. Then we will give you our conclusions on our analysis and reveal the favourites for relegation and what the bookies think too.

Leeds United finished top of the Championship last season and arguably came up with the strongest squad of the three teams. Their spending has been canny – bringing in defenders like Jaka Bijol and a quality goalkeeper in Lucas Perri should iron out their issues at the back.

With bonus additions like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, both of whom they signed for free, one has to believe that the Whites are in good stead to stay up. The highlight of their window has to be Anton Stach, who is looking like a real midfield general at Elland Road.
