5 WONDERKIDS in the Arsenal Academy Right Now
Arsenal have one of the best academies in world football. Having produced superstars such as Tony Adams, Cesc Fabregas and Bukayo Saka, it is a big reason as to why the Gunners are such a dominant force at the moment.
Today, we’ll be looking at what is currently on offer within Arsenal’s U21 and U18s teams and pick out five of the most promising talents within them.
For the purposes of this list, we’ll only be looking at players who haven’t yet made their senior Premier League debut. As such, starlets such as Myles Lewis-Skelly, Max Dowman and Ethan Nwaneri won’t be considered for inclusion. One of them has made his senior debut in the Champions League, though – we’ll get to him very shortly.
Marli Salmon
Despite being just 16 years of age, Marli Salmon is 6ft 2 and already has a Champions League appearance to his name. A calm, confideny young centre-back, there is almost definitely a future England shirt with his name on it.
His skillset is already looking very complete. Capable of putting in strong tackles and carrying the ball forward, Salmon is any young striker’s worst nightmare. On account of his solid technical fundamentals and quickness off the mark, he can also be an effective force at right-back.
Andre Harriman-Annous
If you could build the ideal modern winger in a laboratory, the end product might look something like Andre Harriman-Annous. While still green, the potential that this young possesses is utterly limitless at this stage.
A physical winger who is difficult to knock off the ball, he also has wonderful ball control and dribbling ability that allows him to glide beyond defenders with ease. He isn’t a selfish player, either – he plays with his head up and is always looking to create goals, as well as score his own.
